A huge Thank You for all the shout-outs and plugs for my Kickstarter!

Sent out into the world by eminent journalists to Grammy-Award winning musicians, I’ve gotten some great shout-outs this week on Twitter, Facebook, and various Blogs (in languages as varied as French and Japanese)!

I’ve tried to re-tweet/ share/ like all the ones that I could find, but if I missed yours, please do tell me.

Here are links to some of the blog posts (since they have a longer web half-life):

As part of Timbuktu’s weeklong Mawlid festivities, celebrants press their heads against the outer wall of the great mosque Djingarey-Ber and pray for their hopes in the coming year. Mawlid -- a festival celebrating the birth of the Prophet – is a holiday characteristically associated with Sufi-influenced Islamic culture. (MARCH 30, 2007)

A week gone, 25 more days to go…

First, and above all else, I want to thank all of you who have pledged so far.

Each of your contributions is essential, and I deeply appreciate your support of my work.

Thank You!

If you haven’t pledged yet, you can find the Kickstarter site here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1101472817/333-saints-a-life-of-scholarship-in-timbuktu-book

I also want to share some news.

I am regularly posting short entertaining/ informative posts on two of my websites:

http://electiveaffinitiesphoto.wordpress.com/

http://kyoudaipress.wordpress.com/

Starting today I have begun a short series that is about the book-drafting process on http://kyoudaipress.wordpress.com/

The post you will find there is the first of what will be a three-part story.  Don’t worry.  It ends happily!  Last week I got my hardcover mock-up of the book’s (very close-to) final design.  It’s looking really great, and this perfectionist is actually satisfied with how it feels and flows!

I’m also really enjoying working with my two French translators.  They make an excellent team, and I’m learning nuances of the French language that I never knew before.

Thank you again, and spread the word!

Sincerely,

Alexandra
